GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (AP) - Berkeley County officials now say two people died in a fire that burned an apartment complex in Goose Creek.

Coroner Bill Salisbury says the bodies of a man and boy were found in separate apartments on Thursday evening. Their names have not been released.

The fire started about noon Thursday at Pine Harbor/Pinebrook Point apartments and destroyed 16 apartments.

At least two other people suffered minor injuries.

Sheriff's spokesman Dan Moon says the State Law Enforcement Division and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration are assisting in the investigation.

Moon said one person from the apartment where the fire started has been taken into custody. No charges have been filed.

The Red Cross said at least 36 people lost their homes, including 17 children.
