Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Horry County. It's the third deadly crash in the county on Thursday, and in this crash, a toddler was killed.

About 6:30 pm, Highway Patrol says a minivan was on Liberty Church Road, and the driver tried to cross Highway 9, but collided with an SUV that was travelling on Highway 9.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendrick says a 1-year-old boy from Loris who was in the minivan died at the scene.

Highway Patrol says the child was not properly restrained and was thrown from the vehicle when the minivan rolled over in the crash.

The drivers of the minivan and the SUV were taken to the hospital. Their conditions have not been released.

The name of the toddler killed will not be released until Friday morning.
