HORRY COUNTY -- Horry County's dive team was called to Punchbowl Landing around 5:10 p.m. Thursday in response to a drowning in the Little Pee Dee River.

That landing is in the southwestern part of Horry County near the Georgetown and Marion county lines.

Deputy Coroner Tamara Williard says 34 year old Jimmy Booth from the Cates Bay Highway area died at the scene.

Williard says Booth was swimming with friends when he drowned. An autopsy was performed Friday morning.
