BENNETTSVILLE -- Bennettsville police knocked on the doors of more than a dozen homes Thursday, armed with warrants to charge people with drug possession and distribution.

Lieutenant Larry Turner says "Operation Pharmaceuticals" is the result of a three-month long undercover investigation.

He says they've received complaints from residents and were able to make drug buys from the suspects. Turner says they've bought prescription pills, cocaine, crack and marijuana from the suspected dealers.

Officers raided homes on Wells Street, Carolina Drive and Oakwood Drive.

He says they have 32 warrants to serve in this drug roundup and will continue to look for the suspects over the next few days.

Cheraw Police Department helped in the operation and provided a K-9 team to sniff out drugs.
