Highway Patrol is investigating what caused a Florence County Sheriff's Deputy to wreck his car Tuesday evening.

It happened on Olanta Highway near Effingham.

Captain Michael Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff's Office says the deputy was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be treated and released.

We're waiting on troopers to release more details about the wreck. We will update this story when we get more information.
