CONWAY -- Each year, Coastal Carolina University holds a ceremony in remembrance of the lives lost the day of the Virginia Tech shooting and the lives of the CCU family who have been lost over the past year.
Several gathered at the campus bell tower as the bell rang nine times in honor of students and faculty, and one time for Virginia Tech victims.
"I think it means a lot because I think they know that Coastal is the kind of place where we're going to, we're a family, and we're going to remember their sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, parents," said Haven Hat, Vice President of Student Affairs.
The ceremony also included prayer and singing.
