UPDATE
Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff's Office have arrested and charged Eugene Eli, 19, of Timmonsville, in connection with a shooting that occurred around noon in Timmonsville. Eli is charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Deadly Weapon during a Violent Crime.
The Florence County Sheriffs office is investigating the shooting at the request of Timmonsville Police Department.
Investigators believe that Eli shot the victim multiple times with a semi-automatic handgun near the intersection of North Warren Street and Garner Street. Formal charges could be filed Friday.
The victim was sent to an area hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds.
The condition of the victim is unknown.
