Boyd Timothy Clanton was found dead around the Sugar Loaf Mountain area in Chesterfield County around 12:30 Tuesday afternoon by SC Forestry officials.
Clanton left his home in Hartsville at around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28.
Darlington County investigators, working with Chesterfield County investigators, say they won't know the cause of death until an autopsy is done.
At this time they do not suspect Clanton was the victim of a crime.
His truck was located in the area.
