A man, who police say was assaulted at his own birthday party, died Thursday night, according to Horry County Coroner Robert Edge.
David Altman, 39, was taken off of life support at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center at 11:45 p.m., Edge said.
Altman was taken to the hospital last Friday, after police say a guest punched him at his own birthday party on Quiet Street near Conway, according to Horry County police.
Brian Kuppart was originally charged with Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature. Now, he is charged with murder.
