The Georgetown County Sheriff's office arrested a man from Greer in an internet predator sting.
Billy Jo Lynch, 30, is charged with one count of Criminal Solicitation of a Minor and two counts of Dissemination of Obscene Material to a Minor. Each charge is a felony, punishable by up to ten years in prison on each count.
According to arrest warrants, beginning on October 21, 2011, Lynch solicited sex on the internet from an individual he believed to be a 14 year old girl, but was an undercover Georgetown County Sheriff's deputy.
Investigators say Lynch also emailed nude photographs of himself to the "child."
The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office is a member of the South Carolina Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
The Greenville County Sheriff's Office and the City of Greenville Police Department, both members of the Task Force, assisted with the case.
Lynch's bond was set at $25,000.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
