Myrtle Beach police and firefighters were called to an area off 6th Avenue North and Kings Highway around 2 p.m. Tuesday to find a shed on fire and a body inside.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard identified the man as Gregory Teater, 47. Willard said Teater was homeless and was given permission to live on the property between a fence and the back parking lot to Mona Lisa Liquors.

Myrtle Beach Police Lt. Douglas Furlong told NewsChannel 15 it appeared Teater had been electrocuted. But Willard said until an autopsy is completed, she can't speculate on a cause of death.

One homeless man, who didn't want to be identified, said he was friends with Teater and saw him catch on fire and run into the shed.

Crews were able to patch the surrounding power lines by 4:30 p.m.
