(AP) -- Entrepreneurs and small business owners are invited to use a new online tool to grow their businesses in South Carolina.

Gov. Nikki Haley and the state Commerce Department on Wednesday launched SCBizNetwork.com that's meant to help residents turn their business concepts into reality.

The website offers information on financing options, workforce development and regulations. It also contains a calendar of local events, searchable by ZIP code, and allows people to send in questions.

Officials say the best feature is that it's accessible 24 hours a day.

Commerce Secretary Bobby Hitt says entrepreneurs complain they need information beyond his agency's working hours. He says SCBizNetwork.com gives them a central place for information and directs them to local groups that can help.

Commerce's small business development office will maintain the site.
