NewsChannel 15 has received a couple of calls and emails about the damage at the bottom on the Robert Edge Parkway bridge, also known as the Main Street Connector in North Myrtle Beach.

The State Department of Transportation says the joints between the road and the bridge didn't expand as they are supposed to, allowing water to wash out the fill material under the road.

SCDOT says the damage does not affect the structural integrity of the bridge and plans to fix the bridge.

We are waiting on a return phone call to get more information.
