MURRELLS INLET -- GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry held a town hall meeting at the VFW in Murrells Inlet Tuesday morning.
Crowd of 50 people listened to Perry talk about job creation, the economy and the military- highlighting his status as an Air Force veteran.
Perry said if elected president he'd give certain exemptions to wounded veterans. "If the DOD(Department of Defense) has designated you as an individual who was wounded during service of the United States," said Perry, "you get a five year exemption of paying any personal income tax in this country. That's sending the message that will last longer than a parade."
Perry talked for about 45 minutes before taking questions from the crowd.
Perry was asked if he would bow out of the race if he had a poor showing in South Carolina's "First in the South" Presidential Primary on Saturday.
Perry said if the voters back him up on Saturday, he'll back them up for the next four years in Washington.
From Murrells Inlet, Perry headed to Florence, Columbia and then on to Greenville.
