Horry County police charged a woman with attempted murder and simple possession of marijuana after they were called to a home for a shooting.
Police were called to a home on Chow Lane near Conway about 3 p.m. Monday. They found a man sitting on the front porch steps bleeding from both legs.
Police say Sharon Ann Fields came outside with a gun in one hand and a beer in the other. The officer had her put both down and placed her in detention. Police say while searching Fields, they found marijuana and a pipe.
The victim told police he was raking leaves when Fields accused him of taking her wallet. When he denied it, he says Fields shot him in the leg. When he denied it again, he says Fields shot him in the other leg.
Fields told police she wanted the man out of her house because he has a drug problem and if she shot him, he'd be taken to the hospital and out of the house.
The man was taken to the hospital.
Fields was issued a citation for simple possession of marijuana and taken to J. Reuben Long Detention Center. She's expected to be charged with assault.
