Deputies with the Darlington County Sheriff's Office say 49-year-old Willard Christopher Jordan shot and killed his neighbor's dog Tuesday afternoon.

Captain Andy Locklair says Jordan's dog got into a fight with his neighbor's dog on Airport Road in Hartsville.

Locklair says that's when Jordan walked on his neighbor's porch and shot and killed her dog.

She called deputies after seeing her dog unresponsive on her front porch.

Locklair says deputies investigated and charged Jordan with one count of animal cruelty.

He is scheduled to appear before a Darlington County Magistrate Judge Wednesday afternoon for a bond hearing.
