Matthew Skinner, 36, of Pawleys Island, pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court in Florence to accepting payments from an individual in connection with mortgage loans.

Skinner was working for an RBC Bank in Horry County on June 20, 2008, when he accepted money from someone not associated with the bank in connection with mortgage loans.

United States Attorney Bill Nettles says the exact charge against Skinner is Receipt of Commissions or Gifts for Procuring Loans

Skinner also admitted to accepting payments on several other occasions.

Skinner faces a fine of $1 million and/or 30 years in prison. United States District Court Judge Terry Wooten will sentence Skinner at a later date.
