The Myrtle Beach Mini-Marathon is expected to draw close to 5,000 runners and walkers this Sunday.
Events will kick off at Coastal Grand Mall. Some of the events include a 5-K run and half-marathon. The races end at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk with a celebratory beach party.
Some of the money raised from the event will benefit the Grand Strand Humane Society.
Here are the expected road closures:
· US 501/Grissom Parkway - closes at 7:15 a.m., reopens at 8:00 a.m.
· Joe White Avenue/Grissom Parkway - closes at 7:30 a.m., reopens at 8:15 a.m.
· 21st Avenue North/Grissom Parkway - closes at 7:30 a.m., reopens at 8:30 a.m.
· 29th Avenue North/Grissom Parkway - closes at 7:30 a.m., reopens at 10:00 a.m.
· 38th Avenue North/Grissom Parkway - closes at 7:45 a.m., reopens at 9:30 a.m.
· 29th Avenue North/Kings Highway - closes 8:00 a.m., reopens at 10:00 a.m.
