Myrtle Beach firefighters presented a check for $6,000 to the American Cancer Society on Monday.

The firefighters sold pink shirts in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Rhonda Brown, administrative assistant for the Myrtle Beach Fire Department, has been a cancer survivor for 18 years.

The department will continue to sell the shirts for $15. They are available at the Myrtle Beach City Services building on Oak Street.
