Christopher Galton recently returned from ten days of working with many who lost everything in when hurricane Irene hit the North Carolina coast.

In all, 33 North Carolina counties have been approved for individual FEMA assistance since Irene hit four weeks ago and 29 have been approved for public assistance. Most of the problems now center around rebuilding homes, mosquito control, and dealing with the losses sustained.

Galton says he hopes people along the Grand Strand will learn lessons from the devastation they've seen in North Carolina.

He adds it will take long than a month for people to get back to normal.

"{They're feeling} hurt. Emotionally or physically in terms of where I am going to go, what I am going to do, what I am going to see into the future? So we also not only do we feel depressed from what's happened and what we've lost, but weather it's family or house or pets or other things, but we feel anxiety," Galton said.
