COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -The man accused of killing a University of South Carolina professor he once dated is scheduled to have a bond hearing.
Prosecutors said 37-year-old Hank Hawes will appear in a Richland County courtroom Thursday morning.
Authorities say Hawes was arrested Monday after trying to commit suicide a day after his 36-year-old ex-girlfriend's body was found in her home. Jennifer Wilson was stabbed several times.
Wilson was an education professor and a Fulbright Scholar who worked with children and teachers both in Columbia and overseas in places like Norway, Tanzania and China.
