The State Law Enforcement Division is investigating a deadly house fire at a mobile home on Meander Drive in the Timmonsville area. It happened around 3 a.m. Thursday.

Firefighters say five people made it out, but one man was trapped inside.

The Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee identified the man as Jerome Goode, 22. Coroner Hardee has ordered an autopsy to find Goode's cause of death.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

It is routine for state police to be called in to investigate a fire when there is a fatality.

The Pee Dee Chapter of the American Red Cross is helping the family find a temporary place to live.
