Artists came together for a three-month-old boy Wednesday night. Two local artists held an art show at the Dunkin Donuts off 17 Bypass in Surfside Beach.
"It's just a chance for them to show the community what they do, they're locals they're trying to spread the word that they're here and and also do a good thing," Jennifer Willis, a spokesman said.
They were selling pieces and even making some new art onsite. The proceeds from the expo will go to three-month-old Joshua Degruccio. The infant suffers from a chronic heart condition, left heart syndrome. Basically, his aorta and the left side of his heart are too small.
Baby Joshua has already had two major heart surgeries, including open heart surgery. He'll need three more before he's five. His entire life, the boy has been fed by a tube in his stomach.
Joshua's mom, Sarah, says she is grateful for the help with the medical costs.
Lon Calhoun, one of the artists, and Sarah's godfather, said the benefit was the least he could do.
"Sarah is so great, and Joshua is such a good baby. He never cries unless he needs something, there's never that whiny cry. He's just such a good kid," he said.
