BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) - Authorities accuse a Hilton Head Island convenience store employee of hiding a video camera in a toilet paper holder in the women's bathroom and filming for at least a month.

The Beaufort Gazette reports that 50-year-old Emilio Felipe Derutte-Casas of Hilton Head faces a misdemeanor Peeping Tom charge.

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office says a woman in a Kangaroo Express bathroom accidentally dislodged the camera from its hiding spot July 23, and reported it to the store clerk and law enforcement. The sheriff's office seized the camera.

Sgt. Robin McIntosh says the camera was on for a couple of hours at a time during the suspect's shift.

Deputies searched Derutte-Casas' apartment and seized his computers.

He is in the Beaufort County jail. It was unclear if he had an attorney.
