The state sales tax holiday is coming up August 5 through 7.

Things like clothing, shoes, school supplies and computers will be free of the six percent state sales tax.

The sales tax holiday does not apply to sales of jewelry, cosmetics, eyewear, wallets, watches, rental of clothing or shoes, furniture, items for use in a business or items placed on layaway.

State leaders say the popularity of of the sales tax holiday has made it the third busiest shopping time of the year, behind only Thanksgiving and the weekend before Christmas.
