NewsChannel 15's Tim McGinnis sits down with SC Gov Nikki Haley for an exclusive interview.
Governor Nikki Haley has been in office for about 6 months, and she's proud of what her administration's accomplished in that time.
During an exclusive interview with NewsChannel 15's Tim McGinnis on Monday she said, "We've announced almost 10 thousand jobs since I took office. We've passed tort reform, we've passed medicaid reform, we've passed illegal immigration reform, we've passed voter ID, unemployment reform, and now every legislator has to vote on the record as well as every section of the budget. It's been a pretty cool session."
Over the past few months Governor Haley has also been a vocal critic of the National Labor Relations Board.
The NLRB is looking into whether Boeing broke laws when it built a plant in North Charleston, they question whether it was retaliation for a union strike in Washington.
"We have a great American company in Boeing that created 1,000 jobs in South Carolina, at the same time they created 2,000 jobs in Washington State. And the NLRB is going to sue them for doing that. That is absolutely un-American. So anyone that comes in and bullies our companies, as governor, I'm going to push right back and tell them it can't be done."
Lieutenant Governor Ken Ard was cited by the South Carolina Ethics Commission for campaign spending violations. Haley says, "I think he's trying to make it right and the ethics commission is working with him, and we'll see what happens from there. Should he step down? That's just not my call to make. The Lt. Governor will have to decide himself and I think we haven't heard all the findings from the ethics commission."
