A teenager from Southfield, Michigan was hit by a car while trying to cross Highway 17 Wednesday morning.
Shelby Dermyre, 19, died from multiple trauma at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center at 2:37 a.m., according to Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
Highway Patrol says Dermyre was struck by a 4-door Suzuki, just south of North Myrtle Beach around 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Troopers say the driver will not be charged.
