Perfect attendance earned one local student a free ride.

Around 150 Horry and Georgetown County students came out for a chance to drive off in a free car Wednesday night.

Every year, East Coast Hondagives away a car to one student who has perfect attendance during the school year.

Organizers say it's a way to honor kids who worked so hard.

"These students work hard and this makes them more fit you know academically to go throughout life and this is a good training tool and if they get some great reward for it and they've got 4 years to try," said Greg Smith, President of East Coast Honda. "So each year they're in school they can keep trying for it. We just think it's been great."

Wednesday's winner was Denzel Washington of Conway High School.
