Bikefest held during Memorial Day weekend is a family affair, some visiting mothers tell NewsChannel 15 Sunday.
Atlantic Beach officials have said they estimate 50,000 thousand people are packing into the four blocks that make up the town of Atlantic Beach throughout the weekend for the event.
Vendors say this year, they are seeing younger and younger faces in the crowd. It's the food, music, and demonstrations that make the fun at the festival fun for the whole family, says Tammy Blue of Raleigh, North Carolina.
"This is definitely a family affair," she says.
Blue adds she began going to the Bikefest as a young girl with her mother, now she brings her young daughter.
"I don't come that much for just the Bikefest anymore I come for the beach also."
Avonda Wilson and her family were on the beach Sunday afternoon as well, after attending the festival.
"The kids are out of school so we decided to come down and bring them down for Memorial Day," she says. "I loved the beach. I loved walking through the street. I loved the bikes. I loved everything. It's an awesome weekend."
