State Representative Alan Clemmons, who represents Myrtle Beach, received the 2011 Terry Haskins Award the South Carolina Republican Party State Convention over the weekend.
The award is named for former House Speaker, Terry Haskins.
According to Karen Floyd, the outgoing chair of the South Carolina Republican Party, "Representative Clemmons has been instrumental in securing the integrity of our voting process and ensuring clean elections by helping to move the Voter ID Bill through the South Carolina House of Representatives, and for that I am grateful."
Clemmons is the author of South Carolina's Voter ID Bill.
He is also the vice-chairman of the House Rules Committee and serves on the Judiciary committee.
