COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour is speaking to Republican groups in Columbia and Lexington as part of a weekend tour of this early presidential primary state.
Barbour is weighing a 2012 presidential bid and will speak at Richland and Lexington county conventions Saturday. He spoke at the Charleston County convention Friday night.
Other potential Republican presidential candidates will be visiting South Carolina over the next year because the state holds the first-in-the-South primary next spring.
U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota will be in South Carolina this weekend for tea party rallies in the Lowcountry and at the Statehouse as she considers a run for the White House.
