HORRY COUNTY, SC -- The Horry County Board of Education approved two school administrators, naming Melissa Gause the principal at Green Sea Floyds Elementary School and Robin Jones the principal at the Academy for Arts, Science and Technology.
Gause is currently the assistant principal at Aynor Elementary School and will fill the vacancy of Shirley Huggins who will retire from Green Sea Floyds Elementary at the end of this school year. Gause has worked for Horry County Schools for 17 years, seven years as an assistant principal at Aynor Elementary and ten years as an elementary teacher at Aynor, Socastee, and Forestbrook elementary schools.
Jones has been serving as interim principal at the Academy for the Arts, Science and Technology since the beginning of this academic year. She has worked for Horry County Schools for ten years and previously served as an assistant principal at Carolina Forest High School. She brings 25 years experience to the position, including time as a career and technology teacher, marketing professional, and computer trainer and consultant.
