The Little River chamber of commerce hosted the second annual Taste of the South Saturday afternoon.
More than 100 people came to North Myrtle Beach High school to sample the tastiest dishes from eight local restaurants, 30 businesses also hosted booths with demonstrations, free samples, and things to buy.
Jennifer Walters, the chamber's executive director says the event is a great way to showcase the local businesses in the off season.
"It's a great time of year without the tourists that people can actually interact and talk with the businesses," she says." The restaurants get to showcase their menu items by providing tastes and the businesses get to show of their businesses. So while people are grazing they can also be gazing at all the tabletops."
