Satisfying a sweet tooth and helping a good cause was never made easier than Friday night's Death by Chocolate event.

NewsChannel 15 Chief Meteorologist Ed Piotrowski was the emcee for the event that benefits the Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina

Good Morning Carolinas' Holly Morgan and Jason Claspell and Carolina and Company's Cecil Chandler were judges at the event.

Held at the Sands Resorts' Ocean Dunes Resort and Villas, this chocolate and champagne affair featured decadent chocolate creations from area chefs and vendors.

Organizers say the event was unique way to showcase the work of the Girl Scouts and help raise money in hard times.

"Unfortunately, Girl Scouts can't survive on cookies alone. We have to branch out and do other things. So special events and fundraising events are part of making our budget work for us," said Mary Erskine with the Girl Scouts of Eastern SC.

The winner was Fish Monger Seafood Bait and Tackle for their chocolate creation called Sticks and Stones.
