CLIO -- Randall Malachi, the public information officer for the Marlboro County School District, says the Department of Health and Environmental Control cleared them to resume using tap water.

Last Friday, the district began providing bottled water for students and staff at Clio Elementary-Middle School due to water problems in the town.

The town's well was not operating and the school's water was yellow.

Clio pulled water from the Marlboro Water Company while the well was being repaired, but still, the school's water was yellow.

Malachi says since Friday, the school used about 1,500 bottles of water. They also had to use sanitizing wipes since students couldn't use the water to wash their hands.

Clio's well is now fixed, and the drinking water at the school is back to normal.
