(AP) -- Punxsutawney, Pa. - The world's most famous groundhog gave his annual forecast Wednesday morning.
Punxsutawney Phil's handlers announced to the crowd of thousands of people who gathered on Gobbler's Knob that Phil didn't see his shadow, suggesting an early spring is in store for the nation.
The event, held about 65 miles outside of Pittsburg, is organized by the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club's Inner Circle. His handlers announced Wednesday morning that the show would go on despite a winter weather warning.
This was Phil's 125th annual weather forecast. The groundhog has seen his shadow 98 times since 1887, which supposedly indicates we'll have six more weeks of winter. He's failed to see his shadow only 15 times.
