DILLON -- Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley says 56-year-old Dillon County Lamarr Carter was walking on Lester Road just after 7:00 p.m. Sunday when he was hit by a car.
Officers say Carter was wearing dark clothing and it appears that the driver of the car didn't see him.
We're told he was walking home which was just a few blocks from where the accident happened.
The coroner says it appears that Carter died from injuries suffered in the accident, but an autopsy is being performed to determine an exact cause of death.
No charges have been filed at this point.
SC Highway Patrol is investigating.
