It's official, Palmetto Adventure Land is open to the public.

Community volunteers helped build the $300,000 playground.

Students at Carolina Forest and Ocean Bays Elementary schools designed and named the park.

Dozens of families were testing out the new Carolina Forrest playground Saturday morning.

"When I first got here I was like 'oh my God'!," says 6-year-old Ethan Nichols.

"I think it's really cool and I really like the way it was all from volunteer work," adds 11-year-old Alec Parnell.

Stacey Weaver bought her son to the park, "this is for the whole Carolina Forest community and it was built by a lot of people in the community." She continues, "It's something close to our house that we can go to every weekend."

Starting Sunday, the park is open seven days a week from 10:00 in the morning to dark.
