Palmetto Adventure Land playground will open Saturday at 11:00am.
The playground was designed by students at Carolina Forest and Ocean Bays elementary schools. The kids also helped pick the name, Palmetto Adventure Land or PAL.
Dozens of community volunteers helped build the playground, which includes a pretend boat, submarine, wave façade, a music area, swings, slides, monkey bars, games, picnic tables, a park and more.
Palmetto Adventure Land is located on Carolina Forest Boulevard, next to the future Carolina Forest Library and the Carolina Forest Recreation Center.
The playground is free to the public and will be available for all families in Horry County. The project was inspired through funding secured by Senator Luke Rankin in the amount of $300,000.
Starting on Sunday, November 21, the playground will be open seven days a week from 10:00am to dark.
