Expect road closures for the Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon

The Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon is set for October 24th at Plyler Park in downtown Myrtle Beach.

Some road closures should also be expected.

Road Closures:

  • - Harbor Lights Drive closed from 2 a.m. - 7:30 a.m.
  • - Fantasy Harbor Drive - Eastbound lanes closed from Harbor Lights Drive to George Bishop Parkway from 6:30 - 7:30 a.m.
  • - George Bishop Parkway - Northbound lanes closed at city limit to Fantasy Harbor Drive from 6:30 - 7:45 a.m.
  • - Harrelson Boulevard - Westbound lanes closed from Seaboard Street to the city limit 6:30 - 8 a.m.
  • - Exit ramp from Highway 17 Bypass southbound to Harrelson Boulevard 6:30 - 8 a.m.
  • - Exit ramp from Hwy. 17 Bypass northbound to Harrelson Boulevard - Left turn lane closed from 6:30 - 8 a.m. 

*note: airport traffic will have access to eastbound lanes on Harrelson Boulevard

  • - Mall Drive closed from 7 - 8 a.m.
  • - Coastal Grand Circle - Inside clockwise lane closed from Mall Drive to 17th Avenue South 7 - 8 a.m.
  • - Forest Lane closed to inbound mall traffic from 5 - 8 a.m.
  • - Mall access roads parallel to Pine Island Road closed from 5 - 8 a.m.
  • - Northernmost mall entrance on Seaboard Street closed from 5 - 8 a.m.
  • - 17th Avenue South closed at Coastal Grand Circle to Dividend Loop from 7 - 8:30 a.m.
  • - Grissom Parkway - Southbound lanes closed from Harrelson Boulevard to Highway 501 from 7 - 8:15 a.m.
  • - Grissom Parkway - Northbound lanes closed from Harrelson Boulevard to 29th Avenue North from 7 - 9:45 a.m.

*note - vehicles will be able to exit race path on Grissom Parkway, but must turn right onto Highway 501/portions of Grissom Parkway will open as runners clear the path

Dividend Loop closed from 7 - 8:30 a.m.

  • - American Way closed from 7 - 8:30 a.m.
  • - Celebrity Circle closed from IMAX Theater to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville on the inside lane only from 7:30 - 9:45 a.m.
  • - 29th Avenue North - Eastbound lanes closed from Resort Drive to North Ocean Boulevard 7:30 - 10 a.m.
  • - North Ocean Blvd. - Southbound lanes closed from 30th Avenue North to 2nd Avenue North from 7:45 - 10:30 a.m. 

*note: Northbound traffic may flow, but no westbound turns off of North Ocean Boulevard will be permitted in this area.
