Grand Strand homeless advocates have a goal to end homelessness in Horry County over the next 10 years.
Their plan will address issues like food services, healthcare, and housing. Myrtle Beach city leaders say various non-profit organizations will roll out the plan over the next few months.
Organizers will bring the 10 year plan before the Myrtle Beach Planning Commission for approval next month, and then it will move on to other local agencies. "That group of people that came together over about a year, year and a half to create the plan, are now bringing it to the various groups that will need to endorse it, (like) local governments, the boards of non-profit organizations," said Myrtle Beach's planner, Jack Walker.
Walker says the plan will need to be approved by all local governments, and then they'll agree on a collaborative process to achieve the goals.
