(AP) -- NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Another milestone has been reached in building a $750 million Boeing aircraft assembly plant on the South Carolina coast.

Boeing officials on Friday plan a topping off ceremony at the North Charleston plant to mark the last steel beam being put in place for the frame of the plant where the company's new 787 jetliner will be built. Gov. Mark Sanford is scheduled to attend.

Construction began last November on the plant that is expected to be in operation next summer. The plant is the largest single industrial investment in South Carolina history.
