The man accused of cutting a Florence teenager was brought back to Florence Tuesday.
Chase McClary was arrested about two weeks ago in Charlotte. He was extradited to Florence County Tuesday.
He faces a charge of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
Deputies say McClary used racial slurs and attacked the 16-year-old African American boy.
Federal authorities are investigating and say they may charge McClary under hate crime laws.
