When you head to the polls Tuesday, you will see two questions on the Republican primary ballot, one about health care and the other about state spending.
The first question deals with the recently passed U.S. healthcare reform bill. That question wants to know if you support the general assembly passing a resolution that the assembly would "defend the freedom of South Carolinians" by making it illegal to force citizens of the state to buy health insurance or participate in a healthcare plan against their will, or comply with any provisions of nationalized healthcare that do not apply equally to all states.
The second question asks if you think the state should pass laws to limit spending growth as it relates to personal income, population and inflation.
Both questions are non-binding, that means they won't be made law just because voters approve them. It simply gives lawmakers an idea of how their constituents feel about the issues.
