New flounder fishing rules in effect in parts of Georgetown County

A new law recently signed by Governor Mark Sanford are in effect in the Pawley's Island and Murrells Inlet section of Georgetown County.

The daily bag limit for flounder is now 10 per person and 20 per boat in all inland waters from Pawley's Island north to the northern terminus of Main Creek at Garden City Beach.

The new regulations also prohibit the use of artificial illumination produced by motor fuel powered generators while gigging or fishing for flounder in all inland waters from Pawley's Island north to the northern terminus of Main Creek at Garden City Beach.

The flounder regulations will expire on June 30, 2014.
