CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- A South Carolina woman is charged with murder in the stabbing death of her estranged husband.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reported 45-year-old Nancy Elizabeth Fontaine of James Island is charged with killing 58-year-old Robert W. Fontaine of Edisto Island early Sunday.
An arrest warrant states that Nancy Fontaine called 911 and told dispatchers she had stabbed her husband.
Charleston County Sheriff's deputies found Robert Fontaine on the kitchen floor with a stab wound to his chest. He was taken to a hospital where he died.
Nancy Fontaine told deputies she and her husband had been at a bar on Edisto Island and when they returned to his home, they argued.
She says her husband shoved her and kicked her and she stabbed him.
It was unclear if she had an attorney.
