A construction project will result in lane closures on Highway 17 in Myrtle Beach beginning Sunday, February 21st.
The city of Myrtle Beach released the following information about the construction project and associated closures:
Replacement of a 30-inch sewer force main along US 17 begins in earnest Sunday, with lane closures expected as part of the nighttime construction schedule. The $2.7 million project will replace a sewer line that stretches from just south of 29th Avenue North to 48th Avenue North. The original main was installed in 1980 and is showing its age after 30 years. The contractor will work in the US 17 median from Sunday through Thursday nights. Drivers should expect inside lane closures on US 17, both northbound and southbound, during the construction period, which runs through March.
