CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- The Spoleto Festival USA in South Carolina is sponsoring an April gala concert to celebrate the reopening of the historic Dock Street Theatre.
The Charleston theater, on the same site that a theater first opened in 1736, has been undergoing renovations for the past three years. Tickets for the April 1 gala at the Dock Street start at $250.
To celebrate the reopening, the festival this season is reviving "Flora," the first opera performed in the American colonies. This year's Spoleto opens May 28 and runs through June 13.
