The Horry County Humane Society is scheduled to meet Monday in the hopes of releasing a long-awaited financial audit to the county.
It has been more than a year since the humane society undertook the audit, after claims of mismanagement - including an outbreak of distemper that led to more than 100 dogs being euthanized.
Horry County Councilman Al Allen has been pushing the release of the audit, saying it has stalled and taxpayer dollars are still unaccounted for.
Allen recently suggested that if the report is not turned over to the county soon, he'll request to council that SLED be brought in to investigate.
