Myrtle Beach police arrested a former Coastal Carolina University defensive back Saturday morning on a drug offense, according to jail records.
Police arrested Marrio Norman, 24, during a traffic stop and charged him with simple possession of marijuana and possession of a suspended driver's license, the records showed.
There was no completed incident report late Saturday afternoon, but preliminary records show Norman was riding with Kadrick Baker, 23, when they were stopped on 2nd Avenue North around 3:15 a.m.
Both men were arrested, and Baker was charged with simple possession of marijuana and failure to maintain a traffic lane.
Norman, who started for Coastal, played his final season at CCU last year, and he was an All-Big-South Conference player. He's a current student at CCU and finishing up his degree.
Norman pleaded guilty to the possession of a suspended license charge, and he posted a $362 bail, according to the clerk of court's office. Norman was released before noon on Saturday.
